I have been using these for a while and wanted to share the idea with the rest of you.

I have been using Quality Street wrappers as my flash gels!!! - It works!!

It really does. The colored, see through wrappers on quality streets make perfect flash gels. Just a bit of masking tape to fix them and they do a fantastic job. They are also free with the chocolates!! I know that the colour range is quite limited and the fixing is a bit of a pain, however for free - they do a great job!!

They really are great! Highly recommended!
 
Better still, Spring edition of Practical Photography has 3 free Lee gels on the front and an article on using them!

Or.... you could do what I did, and contact lee filters and ask for a sample swatch book. It has just about all the colours you might ever need, and then about 50 more on top. :D

They sent it within a week and it was 100% free.

The gels are only small, but they fit perfectly over a flash head... what I did initially was tape a piece of clear plastic over the flash head, and slide the gel in behind, but now I have a Lumiquest FXtra Gel holder (which fits the gels perfectly)

Seriously, call or mail Lee Filter for a sample book. I did!! :thumbs:

I do agree, but then again this means that theres no fun with eating the sweets! :) And you don't have that satisfaction of using sweet wrappers as gels ;)
 
I have just sent them an e-mail,wait & see now.:):p
 
I got an e-mail back saying i need to contact a uk dealer but i keep ending back at the andover one that sent me the answer back,i give up.:shrug::cuckoo::gag:
