good compact for £80

looking for a good small compact for my daughter to take to uni looking at around £80 thinking of the A480 but not a good battery life I hear

NO, but someone else posed a similar question and for the money the Canon 480 was spot on with features, image quality and price. Digitial Camera Reviewed it in there top 5, along with Which and What Camera.

The A480 takes AA batteries.If it's a camera that takes a lithium rechargable battery you're after, a good one to look at is the Nikon Coolpix S220. Jessops have them at the moment for around £90. A better camera in my opinion

I have the A480 and its a cracking little beast. Have taken over 400 pics using the supplied cheapo batteries and have just started to get a battery warning. Has great features and is a nice 10mp.
