Google analytics query?

I have been on google & similar to try to find out how to stop google analytics counting my visits to my site, I have found loads of info on this subject but to be honest it might as well be written in double dutch.Please is there anyone who would care to help me by guiding me through the steps in numpty english so I can follow.:shrug:

It's pretty simple to do - if you get stuck shout and I should be able to talk you through it.

Essentially you create a page (mine is /nogoogle.html) which only loads the script from the above link. Then go to that page and it will store the cookie, and not count your visits. You'll need to remember to do this after every time you clear your cookies.

The benefit of this of IP blocking or similar is that you can use this approach from any computer or mobile you happen to be at.

It is probably also worth adding the page with the script to your robots.txt list of pages not to crawl, just to absolutely ensure that no-one stumbles across the script page by accident.

...until your IP changes! (unless you have a dedicated IP, this is probably at least once a fortnight even if you only use the pc in one location due to broadband disconnecting and reconnecting. Unless Sky is unique in doing that every now and then?)

Not sure, I've been with O2 for a year though and my IP has always remained the same, as it has with BT at work. I guess it could change from provider to provider though.
