My Eldest has just had his delivered, he mentioned that it was a pity they did not have a dedicated forum on their site. So I did a search on here early hours but could not find too much. Does anybody know of any dedicated forums or sections of a forum he could check out?

I have 2 of these (Gopro2's) that I use for diving. Lots of info out there..
Basically for UK diving below 10m (sometimes 5m !) you will want lights... BIG WIDE ANGLE ones...
For red sea style diving they are great.
 
Goprouser forum has quite a lot of good stuff.

Don't know any more to help I'm afraid though, other than that you do need either the dive housing for the hero 2, or the gopro3

and be sure to get some kind of red filter for them. Snake river do blurfix filters and backscatter do a flippy magic filter. I have only tried the backscatter one because my blurfix hadnt arrived in time for my most recent trip.

you can check out my videos here if you're interested... all gopro expect the Manatees and the algae patch (which were both from compacts).
