I’d like to record my street photography in London, narrate them and insert photos taken with my main camera.

I noticed the GoPro max has a reframe feature, so it doesn’t matter where you point it you can reframe afterwards from a 360 video.

Now it’s going to be difficult to get it away from my body without looking like an idiot, I’ll need my hands free for the main camera.

So I could attach the GoPro max to my shoulder or camera, see if I can find something that gives an acceptable usable view to work with.

Does any of this sound pie in the sky? It does seem a little ‘toy gimmick’ at times but I think I have a use case and hoped it would work.

We use Insta360 and they are very good, down side is processing power, these files take a bit of grunt to get them looking their best, if I was going it I would place a insta360 on top of the camera.

I have a beast of a PC so that’s ok

I looked at insta, from hours of reviews last night, video quality (particularly at night) seemed to be best with GoPro max so I was settling there.

Yes I could attach to camera, keeping everything level regardless of angle of actioncam is a pretty cool feature too.

The new GoPro does look a bit better in terms of quality, I am always concerned when they launch a new product, most so far have turned out to be car crashes :). 360 is great though it does give you an entire new slant to video. If you need to get them,on your website or host them elsewhere https://www.momento360.com/ is a good shout

Thanks,

So I am assuming there are no glaring issues with what I wish to attempt in practical terms.

In summary.. and because the second video is well worth seeing.

Chest mounted I get a 360 feed like this

View: https://youtu.be/pFkzOUtUYtc

Which alone would be sufficient to reframe.

Even if I attached it to the camera I’ve seen this video

View: https://youtu.be/tNwKrq7LvHY

Showing how it can keep a level video regardless of how it’s moved

So I think it does have a use case which makes it more suitable than a standard actioncam

There was a brand new one for £400 on eBay, had an offer of £360 accepted.. ! Cool
