hi. I have often wondered about having one of these. Does anybody have one and find it useful? Thanks
 
I bought the lighter weaker Gorillapod Zoom (said to handle up to 3kg) many years ago. It's handled my last three DSLRs quite happily, so I'd be surprised if the bigger stronger Focus model (said to handle up to 5kg) wouldn't be a more capable support. It's more versatile than a tiny tripod, though not as easy to use when you don't need its versatility.

Some of the time it's for the advertised kind of situations -- when I want a longer exposure than I can hand hold, and use it to take advantage of a convenient railing etc..Some of the time it lets me do a selfie with a friend or group of friends. Sometimes I use it to position an off camera flashgun or light panel. Sometime I use it to steady a monopod for taking a tripod length exposure. If I wrap one leg round the monopod I can use the other legs to grab something or as two little feet to prop the monopod stably against a tree or wall. It's not my most used camera or flash support. It comes third to my favourite monopod and tripod.

Agree with all of the above, I also use mine for ground level work, wild flowers etc, it fills in when I've not brought a tri-pod along, trouble is I like to use a long lens and that's when the problems start
