At last I finally caught him, he's normally to quick for me, but not today I only sat there for 45mins waiting for him to turn up
a quick crop in ps and I'm still not happy with them :shake: Oh well go back and do it again

You need to hang your nuts somewhere where the sun shines :nuts:
That way you'll get a better exposed shot, be able to increase the DOF (f6.3 ish?)
Better still provide a perch/branch somewhere near your nuts so that they dont end up in the shot. Normally people want to see the birdie not the food

yes I know your right, but its a work in progress , I will have another go tomorrow with my nuts elsewhere

I think you were unlucky, I think OldGits advice will get you some good results.
