It looks a little soft, but that's not suprising if you're using a telescope, you going to have to get a proper birding lens sooner or later, certainly when they start flying around

Yep,

Looking at a 70 - 300mm for my Nikon when I return from sea in June. Focusing is all a learning curve.
I know the limitations of the scope, point focus and wait for something to land
