Ok, so I framed this from under the tree as the sky on the day was very dull, and I wanted to get rid of as much of it as possible. The question is, is there too much tree? Im leaning towards yes, but am looking for the opinions of you fine people as well.

Thanks for looking

Nick

I would agree, the tree has become the subject of the picture not the church.

You answered your own question there Nick
You could have still used the tree to frame had you knelt down a little!

Its a beautiful church isn't it, I have photographed it myself a few times as live in the same town as you!

Thanks everyone for confirming what I thought :0)

Horrocks, you are totally correct, its not an easy place to photograph. The ground around the Church is really tight and its so difficult to get a decent angle, which is a shame really as it's a lovely looking place.

Thanks

Nick

Unfortunately, it's a muddle! Instead of being fixed on including the whole building, especially in the circumstances of lack of viewpoint and featureless sky, did you think of going harder in and hunting for interesting details (building elements, textures ...)?
