Grey card

Where can i get a grey card from, on a Sunday? And also is it possible to actually make my own grey card? Can i just print a colour off the printer?

Just taking photos of fuel atm, and i need my colour balance to be right, so as i can get the correct optics through the fuel. (Before you ask why, it's for my Final year project in uni.)

So yeh, where can i get one from/make one?

Also, do i need one? As i'm using a flash onto a diffuser behind a fuel container, and shooting with this diffuser into the background, so would the grey card actually work? (Shooting at the flashgun'd diffuser

Or just shoot in RAW and adjust the WB afterwards, no need for a gery card then.

Does jessops open sundays? The other option is to use about four sheets a4 white paper instead.

The point of 4 sheets is to stop any light going through them, My college teacher suggested the white paper is ok if your stuck as it works fine.

Try

Inside of a cereal box - empty it first though, and open it out

Inside of a Lowepro bag - these are usually around 18% grey(ish)

I've had very good results metering off a cornflake actually

as to the original question of printing it out, there are RGB colours if you google them to get 18% grey but I was reading about whether you could print one out and one of the forums was going into all this diatribe about pigments etc. so I gave up and stuck with the cornflake
