Yes
Haili is more a Rockabilly/Pinup model, she saw some of my Gothic pics and
fancied some for her portfolio. So got her in front of a Chromakey background
and gave it a go. These are three of what i've been tinkering with..

Scares the living daylights out of me, is there a market for this type of thing?

#1 was the best, but seems a little soft, not 100% sharp.

Have the images been PS onto another background?

Lol, she's a very nice lady and as for the market, all i know is that since
i've been doing these things i'm getting innundated with models wanting
similar shots.

And yes, they all have had the backgrounds replaced, chromakey is green
screen technology, its what they use in films.

#1 is deliberately soft for the effect

Cheers

I'm sure she is, I'm just not into that stuff haha. Ah that's pretty cool, I'm yet to work with any!

That's pretty cool too, nice one! :D

All are very impressive Rob, I would love to see someone doing some of this green screen style work as I would love to see the work that is done, I don't think that I have the patience to sit and do that level of PP :puke:

I am going for number 2 (y), the other2 seem to have the subject a little close.
Did you use Chromakey BLUE background or Chromakey GREEN background.

EDIT. Opps, just read your reply above. sorry.

 Absolutely love the green screen stuff that you're doing Rob. 1 and 3 are absolutely spot on IMO.

I'm not quite so keen on no.2 though. She looks a little too "cut and pasted" to me. Not sure if it's the warm light on the b/g vs the cooler light on her or if the shooting angle for her vs the shooting angle for the b/g isn't quite aligned . . . but there's something not quite working for me. I think she looks a little out of proportion to her surroundings too. I want to see high, soaring ceilings behind her, but she looks like she could reach up and touch the top of the windows.

(y) Back on track with that last one though - and glad to see that you've joined the skull owners club!

Yes 'one' does need to own a skull

Like i said its a very steep learning curve, so yes, i need to work on the
proportions and colour matching properly but i'm having a real ball with it...

Cheers for the comments

Nice work Rob pic 1 for me although her right cheek and nose could maybe do with being desatureated to match the coulour tones of her arm.

I'm curious to know do you photograph the backgrounds you drop into these shots? I like the idea of doing this sort of stuff too and from my actual job as a camera op i have blue screens ready to go. The only thing stopping me is the copyright issue of the backgrounds, untill i can build a library of my own stuff my hands are tied so I was just wondering how you do it?. Do you license pics from a site somewhere or just photoshop your own images to suit?.

Cheers
Andy.

Cheers, i'm trying to use my own backgrounds as i cant really use them anywhere
else, especially in club comps. #3 is my tree, my moon, the rest is brushed in.
The last is a stock background i found on Deviant Art, i really liked the trees:

And yes, i upload quite a lot of stock pics for others to use there.

I'm shooting all sorts now, woodland paths, churches and cemeteries with
this kind of thing in mind. Dull, grey days seem to be best, harsh shadows
just make things more complicated.

You also need to shoot from roughly the same height you shoot a full length
shot of a model, and light them as flatly as possible. And the green background
needs to be evenly lit, no shadows, again it just gives you more work...
