Has anyone tried one of these for 40D please?

apparently not, he doesn't seem to do one for the 20D or I'd have tried one :shrug:
 
Nope, I've never bothered with anything like this. None of my DSLRs have ever suffered as a result. The LCDs all have or had very fine surface scratches but nothing to worry about or that you'd notice without looking for them.

On the other hand, something to stop smearing would be dead useful...
 
Can i just say that to buy a replacemet glass and the tape that fits it from a canon service centre is £7.95 including postage. Its a doddle to fit.

Just so you dont get paranoid about a scratch.
 
I have read on here that the screen is fairly hard to scratch anyway, and a replacement screen (as written above) is very cheap.
