HD Tv as monitor

I am looking at upgrading my macbook to a macbook pro or a iMac

i like having the portability of a laptop, but the screen is always too small, how would a HD TV be as a monitor? (as i can then have a TV again too)

i will have a budget of about £250-300 and would like around 32" in size

would this do the job or just not have the detail needed for photoshop?

For £300 you'll get a basic 32", which would probably have poor colour reproduction. It would also be 720p which would be crap for computer use. I would look at either 2x 22", 1x 24" or increasing the TV budget to get a 1080p set.
