I picked this in the garden a few days ago and produced this stacked image in Helicon software. It took nine manually focussed shots merged together. Comments welcome, but no edits on this one please.

C&C welcome

hi rob, great image.
being a total newbie, what is a stacked image? how do you create one?

Ben.

Very very cool. All of that detail. Very intricate and photographed very well.

Welcome Rob, as a first post that will take some beating, truly wonderful detail. I am impressed.
Dave ....

Thanks, Dave. I'm sure the rest will be rubbish!:)

Thanks, Ben. Have a look at this I wrote yesterday on Flickr. It explains all.

That's very nice, never heard of helicon before, looks a cracking bit of kit, nothing I'd ever use though, not really do any macro.

More Welsh! Helicon is excellent. £38 a year, and worth every penny. http://www.heliconsoft.com/heliconfocus.html

Lovely image really showing what stacking can produce. Seen a number of examples before but this does really show the huge DOF you can obtain when do correctly

Ah, that's beautiful. The centre of the flower has a wonderful creamy texture.
