I was diligently digging out info on tripods and found this forum via Google.

Looks great :)

Here are some photos by way of explaining what I'm about.

Hello there Venomator :)

Glad you liked them.

ETA: I'm still a beginner, though keen. I've just been poking around the picture forums and I'm awed by some of the skill here.

Welcome! I like No2 best out of your debut shots.:)

Hi CT. That thorn tree fascinates me. I have lots of pictures of it (it's in easy walking distance) The wife says it's sad and depressing.

I don't know though. I think this one for example, has a hopeful feel.

Stick your first name at the bottom of a post. Can't kee calling you Druid you sound like someone who hangs around Stonehenge a lot. ;)

That's a nice shot. When you do silhouettes try to avoid large areas of blank black foreground with no detail. Try cropping that shot to leave an inch or less of foreground to see what I mean. :)

Well, I sort of like that blank bit, with just an outline on the horizon, but perhaps I have a peculiar aesthetic :)

For what it's worth, I do hang around Stonehenge a lot and one of my hobbies is building wicker men and then setting them on fire.

Thanks Peter. Might be interested in the meet. I can probably do any of the dates currently under discussion on that thread.
