Yes
My charger that came with my Sony Alpha A200 has given up I think. :(

I know it isn't the battery as I have 2, the stock one and a 3rd party too, it is charging neither.

Basically when the battery is in the little light is on, but now it isn't coming one, so left it for an hour, tried both batteries and it is not charging at all :(.

So my question is, I have found a nice, cheap, fast delivered charger on Ebay from a good seller that I have bought from before, and it has a car charger.

Are 3rd party chargers ok? Would you go for it?

any charger is better than no charger
for the price it would be worth picking up and using until you can source an original charger just keep an eye on the temperature of the battery whilst on charge to make sure it's not trying to cook them
if they start getting hot ( warm is acceptable ) take them off charge

I recently got a universal LiIon and AA(A) charger since the original for a 2nd hand camera I bought from a dealer was missing. Charges all my DSLR and compact batteries as well as a pair of AA(A)s. Priced at around £30 IIRC. Came with a car lead and assorted plugs for UK, EU and USA sockets.

Have you considered that it might be a fuse in the plug? If the light isn't coming on?

Is it one of these plugs that plugs into your charger? Or is it a fixed connection?

If it is one of these - the chances are you have another one in the house plugged into another electrical item as they're pretty common - have you tried swapping the leads with another product just to be sure?
