I have a good quality HP laptop which i have been using to process all of my images. Today I got a HP pc with a good quailty monitor. The problem is all of the colours in all of my images are much brighter. Some photos look better and some dont. Is there anyway of knowing or seeing what the true colour of an image actually is?

Thanks in advance:)

You will need to calibrate both monitors, then they should look the same.

You will need to calibrate your monitor for that too.

That way you will know that when your image is a particular value of red exact same value of red will be shown on screen.

Having the same problem, can anyone explain how to calibrate a monitor please?

Buy a hardware device such as the Huey, Spyder, etc. You install the s/w, plug in the hardware and then run it. The device is attached to the screen and measures a variety of colours and shades to build up a profile of how the monitor performs. The s/w side then creates a profile and adjusts the display colours to the correct levels.
