After your recommendations please. Currently I have a 400d with Cannon 10-22, kit 18-55, sigma 70-300 APO.

As my wife has kindly said she'd buy get me whatever camera equipment I want (within reason, which I would say max £250) At first I thought flash, but as I rarely use the built in flash I thought that a lens would be better. So as I essentially have a 'gap' between 55-70 I have been looking at the below -

canon 28-105
canon 55-250

And I'm stumped, so if you were to choose which would it be and why. I'm open to other (genuine) suggestions.

Many Thanks.

How about filling the gap between the 10-22 and the 70-300 with a nice Sigma 24-70 2.8 EX. Fast, sharp and a great walkabout lens;)

or go for a 105mm sigma macro, very nice fast sharp lens

Humm.... not quite sure how that's going to fill the gap between 55 and 70 though ;)

Barryj, have you consdiered the Sigma 17-70mm? It's better than the 18-55 kit, will take you that extra bit and it's within the budget.

ups sorry, i have heard you do not need to worry about that gap.

but the 105mm macro is very nice
