I am off to buy a new camera tomorrow but have only in the area of £400 (not 300) to play with

I am going to jessops after my test in the morning :D
 
Well my advice is not to go to Jessops!

What are your interests? Landscape? Portrait? Sports? Macro?

Do tell us what you require and I'm sure that, as a collective, we can help but I doubt you will find that bargain you might be looking for at Jessops!
 
Save yer pennies Tony
and go for plan A (400D) as I bet that you will want to change again soon, that would be my advice anyway (y)

Well I thought that after a few "chats" with me and Jo at Banham you had your heart set on a 400D
I wonder if you buy something else that you will always be thinking "what if I had bought it"? then will you really be happy with something else?
If the answer to the latter is yes then go for it by all means (y)

why jessops...

there are alot of very good old cameras out there..

and new ones..

as said what do you want to shoot mainly this will help with whats best for you..

I would still "shop around" though they are not the cheapest place
 
As i said, My camera now is just not enough anymore for me. Plenty of things on it are holding me back

Yes, i do sort of need to sort it tomorrow. Because that is the only time i can get in to lynn to get to a shop

Don't think there is any other camera shops in lynn

I'm new here so i dont know if this is going over already covered topics.

What camera do you currently have? Do you have any lenses, or will you need those as well for the £400?

:D > its a grin
as in, borrowing money off the parents is always good if you can get away with it
there are planty of threads about how good the 400D is on here, do a search, but I am sure you will be pleased with it

I don't think you will be dissapointed it sits nicely into your budget range as well(y) but don't forget that you will "start to want" lenses sooner or later and they get expensive so start saving now :D

I have no idea about Nikon sorry
have a look at the for sale page here there is a couple of interesting ads (y)
 
They are the most trustworthy shop i have ever used. They are a high street shop that happens to have a website.
 
My perents did say that if i passed my theory they would buy me a 2 grand camera with all the trimming :D

Nah, i just want a 400D or a D80 :p
