I notice every so on some pictures Ive taken of seagulls and this heron have purpley blue edges
I am using a tamaron 70-300
more noticable on the white gulls.
Any idea's how to correct this problem please :bang:

Its called chromatic aberration, it will happen on any lens (because lenses refract light) but the more expensive the lens you get the less it happens.
I have the same lens and i get the same thing sometimes.
As for how to get rid of it, maybe a selective colour desaturation in photoshop or something.. im not too sure as ive never tried to do it :)

CA on this lens gets worse as the focal length gets longer and the aperture gets smaller. You may have better results by limiting yourself to 180-200mm and maximum aperture. Adjust the exposure using ISO and shutter speed.

Sorry that there's no magic fix but if it's any consolation, the Canon EF 75-300 is far worse in this respect.
