I want to record a video, but I need to record continuesley for 30 minutes, after about 15 minutes my camera powers off, any suggestions on how to stop this?
Weird, sounds like a bug or maybe an SD card issue. There is an auto power off option but that doesn't have a 15 minute setting and is disabled during video recording.
No, I am going to test it now and tell you exactly how long I can film for.....should it be like until my battery dies / memory card is full? in other words it shouldn't turn off??
Avchd pal AFAIK will do 29min odd till the clip ends or till your card is full... or if it's hot outside and in the sun etc it could shutdown due to overheating.
If it's not the battery, it sounds like an over-heating issue - there will surely be a symbol showing that on the LCD. Over-heating increases noise substantially and some long-exposure cameras for astro photography have liquid-cooled sensors.
Most cameras are limited to 29m 59secs of continuous video to save on import duty. That's easy to get around though, by just stopping and restarting.
