Heron

Hi,

I recently got my camera (a 40D) and have been testing it out around Chester here's one of the first images that I am pleased with.

The Heron was on the River Dee just staring intensely for fish any comments welcome.

That is a VERY striking composition! I think if the image had a tiny bit more punch, and slightly better light, it would be a cracker.

How you get that close , great composition but as has been said a tad under exposed, should be fixable in photoshop.

I have to say the heron is starting to become one of my favourite birds, nice capture

I am impressed, I couldnot get the camera near my eye to take a pic, the other night there where about 3-4 of them on the beach and every time I tried they took off fast little runners too.

Thanks for the comments guys.

The image may be a little soft due to my resize (although the original was a touch soft) and I'm still getting to grips with sharpening an image in Photoshop.

I think I'll have a play around with it and try to correct the underexposure/sharpness.
