Was originally gutted when I saw this chap on a jetty, as I was a long way off with just the 18-55mm on the 400d. Got loads of shots of him, and approached very quietly. The best shot is this one, taken at just 52mm and isn't cropped whatsoever! Wasn't so gutted in the end...

Sadly it was the kit lens of 18-55, so yeah it is a bit soft. Was also pretty dark, so was struggling to get autofocus....

I was very quiet, and very slow approaching...

Not a good shot, but here's the proof that is wasn't a statue... :D
