Interesting shots, the sort I'd expect to see on the wall of a modern office or boardroom. I like the lighting and colours in them , particularly 2 & 4. A nice set, good luck with your continued use of vaseline
Sorry for the Late reply. Thanks a lot for the comments folks. Yeah Vaseline smeared on a filter in front of the lens. Still not quite getting what I'm aiming for but it fun to experiment with
Thanks a lot for commenting folks. I agree about too much overall loss of detail. I'd like to get the smeared highlights, but retain more detail. I'm going to try some more soon
Nice idea and great colours. I did this a while back on my Canon AE-1 with a photographic still life project I was going. You can get some really amazing effects, and while you could then go and create them in Photoshop, you wouldn't necessarily have thought to create them in Photoshop in the first place (the magic of film).
I can't remember if the Holga is an SLR? Because with an SLR, I found it quite easy. You plonk your eye in front of the viewfinder and then smear vaseline on the filter to your heart's content, so that only the parts of the image you want are smeared. Because, yeh I agree that these images would work better, in my opinion, if only parts were smeared and details remained. Perhaps something like a central band was unsmeared and then at the tops and bottom the light blurred outwards. However you want to do it.
But some nice shots, and it's a lovely technique to play around with.
