Homemade ringflash

I was shooting a wedding the other day with another photographer, he mentioned that he had his homemade ringflash in the car - basically a cardboard, tin foil and tracing paper construction to fit over the top of a Canon flash.

I asked to see it, and then took a shot of him with it. For a £3.50 construction I thought it did a pretty good job !

I'll ask for the instructions - here's a pic of it that he sent me.

On using it, we realised the ring needs to be thinner to create a better ring catchlight in the eye - at the moment it's more like a doughnut than a ring.

I made one a while back outof two plastic bowls, some drain pipe and some metallic tape, absoulte rubbish but showed where to improve the next version. Needed to have edges at right angles rather than at an angle.

Yours has done a pretty good job for £3.50, nice one.
