Having thought about it for a while decided to buy the Hoodeye (which looks like a Video Loupe) and replace the Eyepiece on my 7D.Always thought original was too flat to the camera,with this I can keep pretty much off it and the Screen, and is also a lot more comfortable.Also has the advantage of turning for left eye viewing.
Thought I would pass on this little piece of Information for people who are experiencing the same problem.
