Went to shoot a friend's horseball training session yesterday. For those who don't know the sport, it's very similar to netball/basketball - only on horseback! Very fast and furious when played well.
It was a bit of a photographic nightmare - fast subjects, poor lighting, crowded scenes - and I was inevitably stuck at one end of the arena with only a 70-200, and most of the action happening at the far end :thumbsdown: All the same, it was great fun.
The pictures are certainly no technical achievement, and there's room for vast improvement in all of them, but it was certainly a good way to get practise shooting moving subjects! I'm hoping to go to a few more practises so hopefully my photos can improve each time.
One more note - the processing on them was very rushed (had promised to try and get the pics up the same night...queue 2am editing!), so if the levels etc are off, it's entirely my pants editing. All the photos ARE sharp FS, but did lose the quality a bit resized and I didn't have time to tweak each one!
