anybody have any suggestions on where to find a stand for a flash gun which is attached with a hotshoe receiver?? thanx!

that's spooky. normally I would never leave home without an ebay url to a hotshoe flashstand but today you've caught me short. sorry. ;)

Hi, I'm a little late here but I only just spotted your post,

basically there are three components to consider, the light stand itself, lightweight and cheap, an umbrella swivel in case you need to angle the flash gun and also if you want to use a shoot through umbrella or reflector umbrella, and finally a hot shoe or cold shoe as they are sometimes called. There is a great ebay store called photoskill but I can't for the life of me find it! I've bought tons of stuff from them and they are very fairly priced, anyway, here's some links anyway to get n idea:

sorry i have to say - great answer :clap::clap:

but how does the hotshoe fit onto that stand?! :D

I think digital depot in stevenage sell these, it may be worth giving them a ring.

i may well be completely missing the point, i usually do.

but I bought a couple of IR slave units (the flash on the the camera firing triggers them)

Point being, I bought 2 and both of them have standard tripid screws on the bottom.

combine them with a a couple of cheap tripods (7dayshop have some for a tenner) and you have a very cheap solution with full manoverabilty (sp)

EDit:-

I have also made some soft boxes out of card board and some cheap material (although I havent quite perfected the design yet) to go on the flashes

I use a stand occasionally for my Canon flash's. I have Introphoto lighting stands that have a 1/4 screw head. I've got a insulated hot shoe which screws into the stand, the flash sits on that..

Your hot shoe receiver may have a screw thread already fitted
