Once again, the hovers wouldn't quite play ball, and manages to be looking downwards more than is ideal. Often a problem with them.
Sat on the sunflower in the garden late this afternoon, still very breezy, so lucky to get one in reasonable focus.
This is the either a Eupeodes luniger which I favour, or maybe one of the Melangyna lasiophthalma/umbellatarum.
