How do you clean the inside of a lens?

Yes
I've noticed a few small specs of dust in 2 of my lenses and was wondering if this it something I can sort out myself or whether I have to take it to a specialist?

If I have to take it to a shop how much will it cost and are there any good ones in London?

Cheers (y)

Just had another look - lens prices "from £35"

Thanks mate, but I heard that Fixation apparently only work on professional kit or something? I need my 17-55 and 18-200 cleaned, although it's not really affecting my photos as I don't normally shoot lower than about f8 so don't "see" the dust in my shots. But its just bugging me to know its there and it could affect my shots.

For a few specs of dust in the lens I wouldn't bother. Try shooting a blank wall/sky at minimum aperture to see if they could ever potentially affect image quality. I really doubt they will.

If you do see dust in your shots it's more likely to be your sensor than your lens. See if the dust spots are in the same place after a lens change.

You heard wrong. Have a look yourself (indipendent thought is a good thing)

They set up aimed at professionals, and give pros priority, but will accept work from anyone and have a turnaround of about 10 working days

According to Nikon's website they only offer repairs to professional products...

I've taken mine to Nikon UK in Surrey, because of the statement that Fixation only repair pro products :(

If you have a look at Fixation's site:
http://www.fixationuk.com/Fixation/Repairs.html
It states what they will and won't repair quite clearly.

I think in this context professional means SLRs only.

"We will continue to do our best to offer rapid and efficient turnaround for all customers, but if you are not a professional photographer and/or use non-professional models (Nikon D80 and below, Canon D40 and below) it would be wise to expect turnaround times to normally be around 10 working days."

They define what they consider to be professional on the page you linked

that quote isnt saying they wont do it, just that a 10 day turnaround should be expected
