How do i remove the + and - that i have in bold?

i have selected it but i dont know how.

Check to see if you have EXPOSURE COMPENSATION set.

how do i check if i have set EXPOSURE COMPENSATION?

sorry for my lack of knowledge on this.

There will be a button with a +- (possibly in a little box) on it somewhere. Hold that down and move whatever scroll wheel operates it. See if the number changes. If so, set it to 0.

Might help if you check the user manual. It will tell you what all the little displays mean and what buttons control them.
