How to find the exif / meta data from a photo on the internet ?

So I find a photo on the internet, and I am thinking'.....

" I wonder what camera / lens they're shooting with"

or

"I wonder what settings they used for that shot"

How do I find the meta / exif from a JPG on the internet, so that I can find out just that ?
 
I have a exif viewer installed on chrome, but it never seems to give me any info whatsoever in terms of kit and settings etc
 
Depends what is in the file. If the EXIF has been stripped, then you aren't going to see anything.

Best bet is reaching out to the person who took the photo as they will be able to tell you more useful information than an EXIF viewer, even if all the data is there. As the kit and settings are rarely going to tell you much of any use anyhow.
 
There are various software available but if the EXIF has been removed by posting the picture on the net, you've got no chance of retrieving it. Best bet to look on flickr as most of people there just upload the pictures as they are.
