Ok, I have:

1DsMkIII and Adobe Lightroom

To date, I have been shooting raw with a "standard" profile, then fiddling with things in LR when they look like they need fixing.

But that means that I have two tools trying to do the same thing.

First, the camera applies AWB, sharpness, contrast, saturation and colour tone.

Then I get to mess with all of these again in LR.

Would I be better off setting the camera to "Neutral" (zero for sharpness, contrast, saturation and colour tone) and doing all the work in LR?

The picture styles dont affect RAW images so it doesnt matter which one you put on in the camera.

It doesn't actually affect them, but I believe Lightroom now reads the picture style associated with them.

On my Canon I have set everything to "neutral". WB is set to daylight, and I sort out the rest in Lightroom.

The only time I may change a setting is if I am shooting under Tungsten or similar. Just helps me to see how the image has been captured on the Histogram.

Don't forget in LR you'll need a fair bit of sharpening/ detail to overcome the anti aliasing filter on the 1Ds lll
