Im hoping to get out at the weekend as I finally have to time off :D, but im worried that it'll rain and my dslr will get ruined.

How good are they at coping with rain/fog/ and anything wet in general ?

I have an olympus e500 btw.

cheers dave.

The manual says not to expose the camera to 'excessive moisture'. In other words get a waterproof bag for it (or a carry bag with an hole cut in the bottom). Thats what I've done (bought the bag), works well for landscape, but the waterproof jacket is a little to cumbersome for sports/wild life.

My father ordered it for me. I'll try and find out where from for you, cost about £25.00

that would be cool mate cheers :), so choice between tesco's asda or game  which looks the classiest :D

You'll be needing torrential rain before there's likely to be a real issue. You will expire before the camera does.

But, having said that. Tape and a plastic carrier can work well. So too will a t-towel or leather cloth simply draped over the camera.
