I'm pitching this mainly at D3 owners (perhaps D700 also) I guess.
I've always been a bit cagey about shooting for too long in the rain or in very humid climates because of potential damage to the camera. However a few of the blogs/vids i've seen lately have footage of professional togs snapping away in the pouring rain or waist deep in mud without even hesitating.
Perhaps at their level of work the shot is worth 'more' than the kit, but obviously at my level it doesn't tend to work that way round.
I should be receiving my D4 in a couple of weeks and the majority of my lens are in the Nikon Pro range (12-24,24-70,70-200 etc). I know all this kit is designed to be weather sealed etc etc and I don't want to nanny the kit, however I don't want to run the risk of water damage either.
How far do you go? Any failures?
Cheers.
