I hate them with a vengeance...

They make my skin crawl.

They make my spine tingle.

They bring back memories of when I was a kid and my big brother told me horrible (untrue) stories that they eat your brains out by entering through your ears.

They make me pull my hand back in horror.

They (along with centipedes) would give me nightmares if one were to crawl onto my bed in the night.

They come around every year.

They are just....

Earwigs.

By hell on earth, I don't like them. At all. Except...

...when they are in front of my macro lens, of course.

YUCK!!!!!!! so that means you done a great job.. I had one go in my ear once when I was cutting a hedge but there was no brain so he left the same way he went in..

Nice shots! Is that EXIF right, an 8 second exposure?! How did you get it to stay still?!

Hi Chris.

8 seconds is absolutely right.

The earwig just sat there, nothing to make it move I suppose...

Nice set Paul (y)

Oh BTW 'tis true they do crawl inside your ears
How else do you think they got their name  :D

Wow, good work then for getting it sharp! Maybe you should look into getting a flash though, it would make your life a whole lot easier :p

I also have a nasty ear and earwig related story, but I wouldn't dream of bringing it up with someone who hates them as much as you :D
