Grabbed these today, quite a way away so that even my 400mm couldn't really grab it. Worst light, started to hammer down with rain right after I took these.

But I think it's a Greeb ?

It's a Grebe for sure, and probably a male Great Crested Grebe which hasn't got it's full adult plumage yet.
 
Ah, wrong spelling !!

Does their head go orange then ? I saw a few with quite a distinctive orange colour to them
 
yep, that was them. Had a hard time looking them up as I was searching for "greeb", lol
