It's been bugging me for months now. :)lol:)

Sorry I don't have a better picture for ID purposes. It hit me in the face while we were driving around a local water park. Then landed on my sunvisor in the shade. It only stayed for a moment, so this was the best I could get. I'd love to know what it is, as I was mesmerised by its eye colour, in comparison to the brown striped, moth type body and wings :shrug:
 
its a spotted green eyed fly ;)

sometimes called a march fly.

thats what it looks like to me anyway

Hi Jo, it's a deerfly (Chrysops relictus) and will give you a nasty bite, good shot. (y)
