Identify Please

I have had a pair of Elinchrom 500 classics for about 3 years now. They came with a reflector, Softbox, umbrella and this

I have never been able to figure out what it is or when I would use it. I am assuming the bar screws onto the circular plate and goes into the light fitting.

Any help into its uses would be appreciated

What you have is, I believe, a transluscent deflector (http://www.theflashcentre.com/elinchrom-translucent-deflector-with-rod-i249.html) for use with Elinchrom softboxes.

Can also be used with various reflectors to prevent a hotspot

Thanks Gary, so what your saying is it could just be used with the reflector and not only the softbox.
