Image resizing help

Hi all

Are DPI and PPI the same thing? as in when a mag asks for a resolution of 300 DPI ?

I don't like sending people off to read stuff, but in this case, it seems there's no avoiding it.

Magazines always ask for 300 dpi but unless they tell you the dimensions in inches it actually means nothing, they just ask for 300 dpi without a clue what it means or why they're asking for it

Thanks for the help but I'm still a bit stuck on this one :bonk: This is what the mag says:

We'll publish our favourites in the magazine and the coverdisc. We need digital images to be at least a few centimetres wide at 250dpi to print in the magazine. We can accept electronic files up to 6MB in size.

I shrunk the image but it's still 9.4mb Tiff file, Any suggestions how to get it below the 6mb size limit?

Thanks pxl8 I'll try it, but for some reason and I dunno why I thought that mags didn't like jpegs anyway I'll send it as jpeg
