Hi guys, is there a way of finding out if images that are in my Flickr account have been taken and used elsewhere. I've tried tineye and other such add-ons for firefox but seeing as you can only right click on the thumbnails in flickr it doesnt search for the full size image.

Anyone help me?

Regards, Jim

thanks very much mate, for some reason im finding if i link to them it says there was no image at the link so im having to upload them. Cheers though.

In addition to the other good comments...

Click on an image in flickr, choose 'view other sizes', and it takes you to the old style view system, where you can right click on your chosen image and copy image location, or use the tineye extension, or whatever.

If you're on a flickr pro account, and I suspect most of us here are, then you can also access the original uploaded image from here in the same way.

Do you resize your pics before putting on flickr? If so, how? Sorry for dumb question.

I use an app on my iMac which was either free or practically free from the App Store, called Image Bucket. You can do batch resizes, quality downgrades, attach suffixes, prefixes, add a text watermark, and even rotate images etc. Use it on everything before uploading. Save my images to a max width of 1000 pixels and max height of 1500, at 55% quality.

So, don't put ful res images on flickr?

Any windows program that will do what you can do on a Mac?

Don't use Flickr. I put images up on my site. My site also has a little bit of extra protection, in that right-clicking and dragging (on some browsers) is disabled, just to make it that little bit more difficult for lazy people to steal my photos. I mean they still can, it's just a tiny bit trickier. I never upload full resolution, unwatermarked images.

I'm not sure about a Windows program, but I'm sure a bit of googling and you'll find something.

Google added it 2 months ago  theres numerous threads, stolen images are a big problem especially from flickr

I found one of mine on a blog yesterday, the guy also has around 2000 pics nicked from Getty Images and they bill $1000 per image if they find out.

Which they have now :naughty:

what sort of a loser steals other peoples art, what was the blog about?

Football.....

There is a way to solve the problem of having photographs stolen you know.

Don't take too good a photograph!

I've got plenty of images on my Flickr and not one has been stolen :thumbs:
