My sony alpha 350 is driving me bonkers. In normal indoor lighting it won't focus hardly at all. It's a joke. Mobile phone camera works fine, compacts work fine, old bridge camera works fine (does always over do the flash unfortunately). I have now got a minolta 1.4 lens. It is the same under low light. Refuses to focus. Low natural light is a bit better. Brighter light and it is fine
Is there a solution to this? I'm tempted to return to a bridge camera as it is just ridiculous. Is the 350 duff (out of warranty now) or would an external flash gun be better? Do they have the orange assist light which seems to do something magical to focussing as the bridge and the mobile both have them and neither struggle.
I have tried all focus modes. It won't focus properly. Sometimes you change view slightly and it will but a lot of time it won't. Going to feel a right chump taking this gear anywhere if it won't focus indoors, especially when everyone elses compacts and phones just flipping work!!
