I've pressed something on my keyboard in IE8 and now if I hover over a URL for a few seconds or a quick link on the toolbar a little keboard symbol appears on the left side of my screen. It's like a small right hand chunk of keyboard.

I have no idea how it's been enable or what it is.

Any idea's what it is and how to get rid of it, it's driving me to distraction grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.......................

Looks like you have enabled a virtual keyboard somehow, go into control panel > Accessibility to see if anything is set for this.

Never used IE8 but there maybe a setting there also, sorry a bit vague not running IE or Winders

What version of Winders are you you using?

Mark is on the right track with this one, you've enabled virtual keyboard, and by the looks of it you're running vista. You can turn it off in control panel, if you follow Mark's steps.

Oooh and if you want to get rid of any future browsing problems then:

www.google.com/chrome ;)

The only other thought is that if it isn't an accessibility keyboard, it might be Kaspersky (ie your AV programme). That has a keyboard plugin for both FF and IE IIRC. You might have clicked on it and then shifted it to one side.

It's Windows 7, seems after a reboot to have sorted itself out, but thanks for taking the time to reply.

As for Firefox, sorry I'm not keen. I run it on my Ubuntu netbook and I'm not keen. Pretty much horses for courses.

As for Chrome, until the terms of use don't include roundabout ways of them grabbing your copyrite I'll steer well clear of it :D

Ozei your a star m8, I had my stylus sat on the Wacom tablet, it must have enabled the tablet input.

Turned it all off now :D
