Hi guys, really hoping you can help me with some problems I have with my Virgin internet.
My mac and my girlfriends vaio sometimes do not pick up the wireless connection (belkin g+ mimo) and on my mac shows a ! on the wireless bars, no biggie, it only happens once or twice a month.
Lately however, the problem is only on my mac, not so much with accessing the internet but downloading and streaming. When I try to download something it will reach varying percentages and just stop. If I pause it then resume it does nothing, the percentage stays the same and the estimated time just gets longer and longer (through Chrome), on the girlfriends viao it is fine.
When I try to stream something from the internet (as I am doing now from 4od) the programme will just freeze, it is not freezing to buffering then continuing when ready it just completely stops. If i refresh the page the programme will resume with no problems for 4-5 minutes then freeze again. Again, no problem on the viao.
Just wondering if anyone has had problems with this or can offer any help. At first I figured it was the distance from the router but moving right next to it makes no difference, plus the viao can be right next to the mac and it works (both 2010 models). Also ruled out the internet as when testing it I get 9.5mb download, I pay for 10mb so happy with that. Totally confused, I'm assuming it's something to do with the mac and that something needs tweaking or amending in the settings
