Is it worth changing from a very good canon with APS C to the new canon full frame 6D

I'm kind of in the same boat as you, I was thinking to myself I want to go up to full frame but I cant afford the 5d Mk3 and I dont want an older camera so the 6D works out perfect, right?

If you wanna stump up the extra cash for the Mk3 or the 6D go ahead, but just make sure the features of them both are useful to you, otherwise thats ALOT of money you'll be wasting.

I'm gonna be picking up a 5D Mk2 once a nice one comes along :D
 
I was in the same boat a few weeks ago, wanting to go full frame after having a 300d/30d/ 7d. I decided on a used (6mth old, 1200 actuations) 5d mk2, I figured that if I preferred the 7d crop camera then I'd be able to sell the 5d mk 2 on easilly enough. A few weeks on and I prefer the 5d mk2, my wide lenses just seem right when combined with a full frame sensor, and I'll keep the 7d primarily for combining the crop factor with my longer lens.
I suppose I was lucky (or planning ahead) as the only EF-S lens I have is the 60mm macro (gave a 15-55 kit lens away with the 300d to a friend), and I'll keep that for use with the 7D. If all of your lenses are EF-S then it's a much more difficult / expensive proposition.
 
What are you going from - is it the 600D in your signature ?

I'd be asking myself lots of questions, like apart from the obvious full frame, what do you want the 6D to do that your "very good APS-C body" doesn't - what are the short falls with your current body? Are you going to miss the 1.6 crop factor of your body ?

Do you really think so? I think my 5d mkii takes better pics than my 30d but the only thing that is a massive leap is the iso!
