Is there a tool that will let me delete selected pieces from a jigsaw puzzle?

I would appreciate recommendations for a camera that is better than my Nikon Coolpix S8200 for taking these photos, but doesn't cost thousands of dollars. Is there a camera that is significantly better than my Coolpix for around $300?
