Was talking to a tog a few weeks ago about the 40D's ISO capability's. When I looked at his ISO reading it said 2oo. I have never really seen this before and when I ask him about it he said he forgot how he got it. (Idiot or just forgetful?)

I can't find out what the hell it is, so its down to you guys to enlighten me. :p

do you mean on the display? i get that on the MKIII when using ISO safety shift :)

:agree: HTP is on.

HTP is bang on, just searched it and found a few great articles about it and how to get it on. Thanks for the help lads.

So - does anyone shoot with HTP on? Or off? I usually have it disabled on mine, but perhaps i'm missing out on something?

I think my reasoning was that I like to use ISO100 where possible, but i've since learned that to get the shots I want (not blurred ones!) I often need to bump up the ISO in all but the brightest of conditions.

I do use it sometimes for certain subjects like Pandas which have white faces and a dark body, do get more noise at high ISO using it though:)

Maybe it's only useful if there's a lot of contrast in the picture then? I will have to experiment! The hardest thing is remembering to try these things out.
