Im having trouble updating the lens distortion control on my camera. I have a Nikon D4S and have updated the firmware to the latest but when trying to do the 2nd part( lens distortion control) it won't let me. I download the file to my desktop from the Nikon site, double click the file and it starts the install process including licence agreements etc. I get to the actual install section and it asks for my password to allow the install which i then do, i then get a notice saying it failed to do the install because there was no file there to install. I deleted the file and downloaded the file from the Nikon site again but again when i get to the actual install section it says there is no file to install..Anyone had this before or anything i should try.

Get this data when i look at the error-
2015-12-28 14:24:23.469 Installer[3467:782582] Package /Volumes/S-DCDATA-002009MF-ALLIN-32BIT_/Packages/EN/Distortion Control Data.mpkg uses a deprecated pre-10.2 format (or uses a newer format but is invalid).

Just looked up the meaning of deprecated and came up with

While a deprecated software feature remains in the software, its use may raise warning messages recommending alternative practices; deprecated status may also indicate the feature will be removed in the future. Features are deprecated rather than immediately removed, to provide backward compatibility and give programmers time to bring affected code into compliance with the new standard

So maybe it has been removed on as temp basis and the reason why you can't download it

An update from Nikon-

Dear Mark,

Thank you for your reply.

I have managed to replicate the problem on El Capitan - it seems to be due to increased security features on the newest Mac OSX system version.

I need to report it now to the relevant department so we can update and publish a new, compatible installer for the Distortion Control Data.

Meanwhile however the best I can recommend is to install it from another computer, running an older operating system version.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again should you require any assistance.
Kind Regards,
