I was surprised to note that whilst flying back to a perch with a grain of corn they dont crack it open but roll it around in their bill for a while and then just swallow it  Do I have odd Sparrows in my garden?

No birds have a crop (in the throat) that has tiny pieces of grit in it, these are used to grind up seeds etc, I think!?!?!

Good spot and capture Rich.

This is a great shot. These birds take over 75% of my garden offerings but I don't mind I kind of like them.

Another superb shot Rich, and I think your Sparrows are quite normal.
