two injured birds in captivity

lots in the wild out here, (S Africa)

70 200mm f2.8 at f2.8 .... obviously I was close, but the light is just extreme out here

bg edit not the best but it will do for now

Great shot. Amazing detail in the throat (never seen in there before!). Good detail in the eyes as well.
 
The first is my favourite here in terms of composition (beautiful animal btw); however I don't care for the halo around the bird on the right, and the softness around the bird on the left.

the halo is because I only edited the image, and bg, on my laptop and as I pointed out it was careless editing on my part

as I indicated it is a captive bird on a shaded perch - the light was such that I used f2.8 - but even with a smaller fvalue I would nou have got any DOF as I was very near the bird

the first bird is the less common morph
